Bighorn sheep, who happened to be lying in the road when I came around the corner, but conveniently perched himself in this most-photogenic position when Mark came by to take this picture.

And...mosquitoes!

The downside of all of this animal viewing was that we were pretty well into the evening when we thought about camping. All of the good spots along the way were taken, so we settled on this half-baked "campground" that was teeming with bugs resistant to DEET. I cooked dinner quickly and we walked around eating it, to avoid the bugs. Needless to say, we retired immediately thereafter to our respective tents, to enjoy the sound of raindrops on our lodgings, only to realize that it was the noise the bugs were making swarming us! Don't camp here, folks! Miles today: lots (around 460)
