Day 3: Nelson, BC to Mosquito Creek CG, AB

Well, off we went into the mountains on the morning after Canada Day. We took some quality time in Nelson to show off our team life skills by me draining my battery by leaving the grip heaters on (see my review later on said grip heaters) and having to compression start the bike, Porkchop leaving his puffy coat somewhere, and with mark almost leaving his tank bag in Walmart--it was all Porkchop's fault, according to Mark. The ride was amazing, through Kaslo to New Denver and on up to the Ferry to get us to Revelstoke--we just made it on to the 2nd ferry after missing the first one. The post Canada Day traffic was beginning to rear its ugly head.
Here is the friendly ferry guy. The cars were so stuffed on this thing, he couldn't even close the safety gate. Good thing we are all getting along so well! After Revelstoke, we headed into the big mountains over Rogers Pass. The weather was pretty nasty, so we didn't get the incredible views we had hoped to show Adam. We also had to keep our eyes on the road, as it was packed. Having survived that section, we regrouped in Golden and headed on toward Lake Louise. With far less traffic, this stretch was awesome. The Triumph was loving it, passing the KTM and BMW at will. We will not mention the rate at which we were traveling. At the intersection to the Icefields Highway, we decided to enter the park and camp for the night at Mosquito Creek CG, after 505 kilometers. We settled in for the evening to be devoured by...mosquitoes! A real shocker!
The LED lights are AWESOME and also get a 100% on Porkchop's gear rating scale.
We enjoyed a beautiful view of the moon that night. Total miles: 1024
