Day 4: Mosquito Creek to Jasper

We will score Mother Nature 1, our team 0 on this day. It started out just fine, with sun and blue skies and fabulous views. Here is Loki taking in the scenery.
We also encountered our first grizzly! From a distance, of course. He was being shy until someone's car alarm went off, and then he started to pay some attention to the gaggle of photographers watching.
More stops for great views...
And then the rain began. The driving rain. And did I mention that it was snowing about 750 feet above us. Not warm. But the Weeping Wall was weeping.
Visibility was poor. With a hypothermic Porkchop on our hands, we surrendered to Mother Nature and stayed for the night in a warm, dry hotel in Jasper.

  2. Hi Anne and Mark:
Am really enjoying your blog - Anne, you are super at this. Hope the weather has gotten better. Since Loki seems to be a "do nothing" I think you should train her to be a grizzly handler. Be safe. Looking forward to your next posting.
    love,
    Chris/Mom
